Does Stove Top Make Beef Flavor Stuffing
You can't beat how easy Stove-Top stuffing is to make. You can make it even more hands-off by using your slow cooker! The best part is that you can keep it warm for your dinner party.
If you love easy side dishes also try my sweet potato wedges or green bean casserole.
For my family's holiday dinners, each family brings prepared food in a slow cooker.
I like to prepare and bring the stove-top stuffing in my slow cooker. Stuffing travels great and stays moist in the slow cooker.
How to make Stove-Top Stuffing in the crockpot:
- Stove-Top Brand Stuffing Mix – You can use any flavor! My favorites are chicken or cornbread.
- Butter – amount listed on the box
- Water – amount listed on the box
- Place the water and butter in the slow cooker. Cover and cook on HIGH for 1.5 hours.
- Add the stuffing mix after the water and butter are hot. Stir.
- Fluff with a fork.
How many boxes can I make?
- You can make up to five boxes in a 6-quart slow cooker.
- Follow and measure the amount of ingredients for each box – no need to adjust for the slow cooker.
What are some stuffing mix-ins?
Add one or more of these options below to make your stuffing extra special. (Add when the stuffing is done).
- Ground sausage: Cook and crumble a 1/2 pound of ground sausage for each box of stuffing.
- Vegetables: Sauté carrots, onion, and celery for additional flavor.
- Dried cranberries: Add 1/4 cup for each box of stuffing for a festive touch.
- Apples: Dice 1 apple per box of stuffing for a sweet crunch.
How long can I keep this on the warm setting?
- Cooked stuffing will keep on the warm setting for 3 hours but will need some babysitting.
- Stir every half hour and add a touch of water if looks like it's drying out.
